MONDAY CLUBS   (10 Sessions)
Super Sports (Grades 3-5)

F.A.S.T. Athletics will offer a variety of sports each week such as: Soccer, Baseball, Basketball, Dodgeball, Gagaball, and Kickball. Each class will include warm-up games as well as learning the basic skills of each sport and incorporating them into a fun filled, non competitive game!


Lego Robotics and Engineering          (Grades 2-5) With the help of the incredible LEGO SPIKE Essential kits, students can experience the wonder of their first robotics course. During each lesson, students will be challenged to build a new robotic gadget or gizmo to solve a problem through exciting, story-based challenges. Then, they can learn the ins-and-outs of coding to operate their robot creations and complete the challenge.

Each build will require the use of teams, helping children to learn additional collaborative and cooperative skills to go along with their newfound expertise as robot engineers. But it’s not all 1’s and 0’s – students will also have the freedom to design and customize their projects so each build becomes a reflection of their personality.


Bread Making (Grades K-5) This class will explore the many ways to make bread. We will prepare sweet friendship bread,
zucchini bread, cheesy cornbread and cinnamon swirl bread. Have you ever thought of creating
a bread in the shape of a turtle? Also on our line up is chocolate bread, sandwich bread, banana
bread and funfetti bread! There will be many surprise “pop up” recipes along the way.


Crafty Foxes (Grades K-2) Fox Meadow and red & white are the themes for this class run by Lydia Hassan, a longtime ASC arts and crafts teacher! Children will build sculptures from recycled materials, make pillows, flags, collages and scrapbooks, all in the name of Fox Meadow school spirit!


Martial Arts (Grades 1-5) Learn how to kick, jump, and move like a true Ninja in this amazing martial arts and self defense class. In this exciting program your child will become both physically and mentally stronger, developing confidence, discipline, respect, and self-control. Taught by a certified 3rd degree black belt with many years of teaching experience, your child will learn how to safely bully proof themselves with proper self-defense techniques. In this awesome martial arts class there will be board breaking days where your child will learn striking and kicking techniques which they will use to break real wood boards!


Chess (Grade K) Welcome kindergartners to the magical and exciting world of chess! You will participate in epic chess games, fun and interactive lessons, tournaments, team matches, trivia and more. Whether you have been playing chess and want to improve, are brand new to the game, or you just want to have a fun experience with your friends, this class is for you!


TUESDAY CLUBS    (12 Sessions)


Chess (Grade 1-5) Enter into the magical and exciting world of chess. You will participate in epic chess games, fun and interactive lessons, tournaments, team matches, trivia and more. Whether you have been playing chess for your entire life and want to improve, are brand new to the game, or you just want to have a fun experience with your friends, this class is for you!
   


Sports & Games (Grades K-2) Play a variety of sports and games with Fox Meadow’s own Coach SW!


Rubik's Cube (Grades 2-5) Learn how to solve a Rubik’s cube and make cool patterns.
Learn silly stories to make remembering the math easier and prove just how smart you are, unlocking the secrets of one of the most baffling puzzles. You’ll be proud to show off your new skills to everyone you meet for the rest of your life. Challenge yourself to see just how quick you can solve it with races against each other and the teacher. You’ll even see him show off some amazing skills with the puzzle that’ll blow your mind.


Sweet & Savory Cooking                   (Grades K-5) Do you love sweet and savory recipes? If so, then this class will satisfy your appetite. Each
week the children will prepare a recipe and bring it home with baking instructions for all to enjoy.
We will make NY style pretzels, cinnamon rolls, creamy veggie dip, chocolate cake,
cheesy broccoli tots and everyone’s favorite pizza bubbles. As we move into Spring and
warmer days we will make lemon loaf cake, focaccia bread, hamantaschen cookies, happy face
guacamole dip and refreshing corn salad. As always there will be many “pop up” recipes along
the way!


Phreaky Physics (Grades K-2) Is your energy potential or kinetic? Find out with us as we explore centrifugal force & gyroscopes. Become a junior engineer and experiment with axles, pulleys, levers, gears and wheels. Some of the weekly topics in this session are: Harnessing Heat, Mad Science Machines, Mad Magnets, Super Structures, Under Pressure, “Current” Events, Lights…Color…Action! Watts Up, Energy Burst & Fun-damental Forces.


Pixicade with Mr. McKenna                (Grades 3-5) Pixicade™ is an innovative STEAM program with an open-ended play pattern that is both physical and digital. The curriculum was created by an award winning veteran teacher and connects game design with story telling, making it a powerful tool to support student literacy.


Disney Mania (Grades K-2) Do you enjoy those beautiful songs sung by your favorite Disney movie stars? Join Sandbox Theatre for a Disney song and dance themed club! Re-live the drama of some of the best-loved Disney movies as you learn to sing and dance your favorite parts.


WEDNESDAY CLUBS   (11 Sessions)
Soccer and Basketball (Grades K-5) In this class, students will participate in a variety of basketball drills as well as play modified basketball games in a fun, safe and supportive setting. Students will work on specific skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting. Students will also participate in a variety of soccer drills and games and will cover skills including passing, dribbling, and how to play defense.
 
 
   
Chess (Grades 1-5) Enter into the magical and exciting world of chess. You will participate in epic chess games, fun and interactive lessons, tournaments, team matches, trivia and more. Whether you have been playing chess for your entire life and want to improve, are brand new to the game, or you just want to have a fun experience with your friends, this class is for you!


Sweets Baking (Grades K-5) If you love desserts and sweet treats then this class is for you! Each week the children will
prepare a recipe and bring it home with baking instructions for all to enjoy.
During the winter months we will make a sweet carrot cake, banana chocolate chip oat bars,
chocolate cake, a sweet Valentine’s Day surprise and soft ginger cookies. As we
move into the spring, we will make a lemon loaf cake, Hamantaschen cookies, oreo cookie dip,
apple twist donuts, Earth Day cookies and a cinnamon swirl bread. As always there will be
sweet surprise recipes along the way!

3D Printing (Grades 3-5)
 

Are you ready to try some cutting-edge tech? Fox Meadow is the only school to have run 3D printing every semester for nine years! In this class, you will be challenged to create a design on the computer to 3D print in plastic on one of our five printers. Design challenges have included: Modeling your own house, making a working maze, designing a working nighlight, creating a NYC landmark, and making a luggage tag, to name a few. This is always a student favorite!
 


My First Lemonade Stand                   (Grades K-2) Learn how to run a lemonade stand!

Learn recipes, design flyers, learn
how to count money, make change and tally
your profits. Then, in a showcase finale event,
launch your lemonade stand and sell, sell, sell,
and raise funds for a charity students select! Please note: lemonade will not be made during the class.
 
 
THURSDAY CLUB   (12 Sessions)
   
Sports & Games with Coach SW (Grades 3-2)
Play a variety of sports and games with Fox Meadow’s own Coach SW!
 
 
Pizza Dough Party (Grades K-5) Have you ever thought about the many ways to use homemade dough? In this class we will create a Hawaiian pizza, garlic knots, funny face pizza and a margarita pizza. We will roll dough into small balls and make pizza bubbles. Stromboli and mini calzones are on the line up and a special chocolate chip dessert pizza. This class is for Pizza Fans! Please note: this class will have the same recipes as the pizza class offered in the fall semester.
 
 
Narwhals, Narwhals (Grades 1-5 Join Sew Happy for "Narwhals, Narwhals," a hand sewing project including decorative narwhal bunting, a pillow with a narwhal pocket, a bookmark and fun friendship bracelets. Hand painted musical narwhals, jellyfish and shells are the theme of this adorable project.
 
 
Movies, Music, and Dance                    (Grades K-2) Come join us for a fun dance class based on your child's favorite movies! Is your child always singing the lyrics from the New Cinderella or dancing in your kitchen to the Greatest Showman music? If so, this is the class for them! Spend the afternoon learning dances to the music of favorite movies and expressing themselves through song and dance. New routines will be taught this semester, so old and new students are welcome!
 
 
Comic Books (Grades 2-5) In Comic Books, artists create their own comics from
start to finish: from character design and
storyboarding, to drawing and inking their panels, to
binding the pages into a real book!
 
 
Debate Club (Grades 3-5) Learn the art of persuasion! Students work in
rotating groups and practice their debating
skills in a supportive environment, including
developing arguments, issuing rebuttals,
providing examples, rebuilding their case and
summarizing points of view.

Students learn to think on their feet and
enhance their public-speaking skills, gaining
self-confidence in the process


FRIDAY CLUBS

  (9 Sessions)

Jewelry & Beading Regular &   Advanced Workshop (Grades K-5)
In this creative, engaging and hands-on workshop, students construct beautiful and high quality beaded jewelry & accessories. Everyone will work on a bead design board and choose from an amazing selection of beads (crystals, sea glass, ceramics etc) lead-free charms and components. The winter and spring session will feature many new accessories and styles with a focus on these seasons including: necklaces, bracelets, rings, bookmarks, keychains, room decorations and many other fun items. Beading techniques will be demonstrated and used. All levels are welcome and accommodated.
 
 
Fit Foxes (Grades K-2) FAST Athletics will offer a variety of sports each week such as: Soccer, Baseball, Basketball, Dodgeball, Gagaball, and Kickball. Each program will include proper stretching and warm-up games as well as learning basic skills of each sport. This is a co-ed non-competitive program to help introduce our younger students to different sports and games in a safe and fun setting.
 
 
Lego Engineering Exploration              (Grades K-1) Take your child’s knack for building to another level! In this class, students will use classic LEGO pieces to solve hands-on engineering challenges, like building and stress-testing a bridge, constructing storm-proof towers, and more!

Instructors will lead your little engineers through engaging and instructive builds that focus on introducing and reinforcing the engineering design process for each student. Each lesson is also paired with a narrative, explaining the need and purpose behind the simple machines, structures, and tools that the children will construct with the LEGO set.
 
 
Chemistry Chaos (Grades 3-5)
Chemistry Chaos allows students to experience chemistry differently. Students will be able to use chemicals while learning about the science behind reactions, properties, composition, and structure of elements and compounds. Students will have the opportunity to experiment and learn about DNA and how to extract it from fruits and vegetables, learn about slime, the different materials that can be used to create it, and how they react to each other. Creating a lava lamp will allow students to learn about density, volume, and mass, and will show students what it was like to have one during the 70s. Please note: there will be no class on Friday, May 10 - this class will be held during the makeup week on Friday, May 31.
